kasvot kadussa (2021)
In 2021, Turku celebrated its tenth anniversary as the European Capital of Culture. The photo piece Kasvot kadussa (Faces in the street) was part of the anniversary program. The piece consisted of more than 300 black and white portraits that were assembled on the pavement as an 80 meter long path. All portraits were taken by Turku based photographers Linda Svarfvar and Jaska Poikonen. Most of the people portrayed were recruited from the street straight in front of the camera.
The portraits were exhibited in July-September 2021 in Turku, Finland, in front of Logomo, a centre for culture, arts and creative economy.
